ASCA takes on Nash-Vegas and the SASC Annual Conference!

ASCA student leaders from all over the state of Alabama have been participating in the Southern Association of Student Councils' annual conference in Lebanon, TN. The Music City and conference's "Tune Into Leadership" initiative made the overall experience both exciting and memorable!

The nine schools representing the Alabama delegation included Athens High, Baldwin County High, Faith Christian, Florence High, Munford High, Munford Middle, Odenville Middle, Smith Station Freshman Center, and St. Clair County High.

Athens High served as SASC Parliamentarian for the 2015-2016 school year. They were instrumental in helping to plan the conference and orchestrate the election of the new officers for the 2016-2017 year.

Athens High Advisor, Karen Clem, was also elected as an SASC adult officer; winning the position of Assistant Advisor. Mrs. Clem will serve in the position for the next two years.

Hundreds of student leaders from all over the south were in attendance at the conference and were able to hear from several speakers including Tyler Durman, Jeffrey Dean, and Jennifer Dale. Delegates were also entertained by Hypnotist, Michael Blain; country artists Rhythm Kitchen and Paper Street Music; star of The Voice, Nolan Neal; and several other talented recording acts!
